High Cloud Storage Demand Allows AWS to Lower Amazon S3 Prices

February 7, 2012 -- Cloud provider Amazon Web Services has lowered the prices on its storage solution Amazon S3, according to a blog post on Monday. At the end of 2011, Amazon S3 hosted 762 billion objects, and processed more than 500,000 requests per second, and the decrease in storage prices reflects the high demand for cloud storage.

February 7, 2012 -- - Web hosting provider Hostway announced on Tuesday it has launched FlexLink, which offers an individual, private VLAN connection to enable users to deploy hybrid cloud solutions for increased security. The hybrid cloud solutions will allow a company to combine Hostway's managed public cloud infrastructure solution, FlexCloud, with managed hosting, colocation and private cloud services to achieve the optimal compute environment for their needs.

February 7, 2012 -- Virtualization and cloud infrastructure provider VMware announced on Tuesday that it has launched VMware vCloud Integration Manager for service providers automate the delivery and operations of clouds based on VMware vCloud Director. VMware says its new software will help service providers quickly create and deploy cloud service offerings as well as operate efficiently, and scale to meet customer demand.
