Hosting your own server?

Posted by: admin | Comments Comments Off
Has anyone set up their own server not like host a website off your computer but host an entire server. If so how did you guys do it, or more so how can I do it, I have been wanting to host my websites from my own server so I dont have to pay the monthly server fee's and deal with all the limitations. I know i would have to buy my own server but after that i could use it as my own and hosts friends websites off it also. Any ideas or tips?

I was planning to go for blue host . But i have read couple of review in this forum, that its not good

Hello,

We are looking for a good and reliable colocated server in a USA Datacente, currently we have a Server in SoftLayer and we want to move to a Own Colocated server in our own rack space so we wan't to hear your recommendations for US Datacenters.

Our server specs are:
3 GB of RAM
Intel Xeon 3060-Dual Core
Two hard Drives (Raid 1) One for files, other for DB
RedHat Linux

So we want to improve the performance with a reasonable price buying a colocated server.

So what do we need?

A Specialist in Hardware, Linux and server colocation to Colo a server, with our own specs, in a Good datacenter, the Specialist have to provide us the server hardware too and colocate the server.
The Main server use will be to host a vBulletin forum.

So We'll be waiting for your answers.

You can contact us by email, just send me a MP to do it.

Best Regards,
Rafael
